As the situation with COVID-19 evolves, Gift of Life wanted to shine a light on the doctors, nurses and health care workers who are tirelessly serving on the front lines.

To support their important work, Gift of Life donated 10,000 urgently-needed swabs to Baptist Health South Florida | Boca Raton Regional Hospital to aid in testing patients for COVID-19. Area hospitals, similar to those across the country, are short of the supplies needed to identify coronavirus cases.

Gift of Life uses the swabs for volunteer donors to join the registry, to determine compatibility with patients battling blood cancer, sickle cell and inherited immune disorders.

This donation comes in addition to the new measures Gift of Life is taking to ensure patients continue to receive lifesaving blood stem cell and bone marrow transplants, while also playing new roles to support hospitals as they work to meet the critical care needs of their patients during this time.

Gift of Life’s state-of-the-art Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Gift of LifeBe The Match Collection Center in Boca Raton, Fla., one of the few collection centers in the United States that is not based in a hospital setting, has increased its service capability to meet demand and ensure transplants are not delayed.

To help Gift of Life meet this challenge and ensure that every patient receives their lifesaving transplant on time during this crisis that affects health care facilities worldwide, Gift of Life invites you to make a contribution. The actions of a community – no matter how big or small – can make a powerful impact.

Thank you for your continued support of the Gift of Life mission.
